    The Challenge
    The Audi brand is synonymous with style, innovation and power. As more customers go online to research large purchase decisions before they buy, Audi wanted to ensure their core values were felt by online guests through engaging, high fidelity A8 L and A7 SB configurable movies that attract potential customers and create a lasting impression.


    The 3DEXCITE Solution
    We created stunning visual movies that showcase key features of the aesthetic vehicles including basic configuration options. The movies begin with a driver’s side close-up of the front of the luxury vehicles, highlighting both the guest’s choices in vehicle color and wheel style. Next, guests are treated to a tour of the vehicle’s additional features, such as: panoramic sunroof, intricate LED lights, built-in entertainment system, high-end massage seats and more.


    The Result
    Guests of the Audi A8 L and A7 SB landing pages are enticed by the movies to remain on the site longer and casually explore the vehicles’ features in gorgeous environmental settings. Our powerful and cost-saving CG workflow provided creative possibilities that are either not possible in a live shoot setting, or are more expensive and less flexible. The A8 L and A7 SB visualizer movies provide photorealistic, configurable experiences that powerfully connect the Audi brand with its guests and encourage further purchase consideration.

    European Car of the Year 2016

    With its sleek lines and athletic sculpting the new Opel Astra’s looks are matched only by its performance. 3DEXCITE’s in-house creative department FLAVOR3D worked with Opel to highlight the Astra’s distinct personality by creating a series of still images that are used in a range of high-end print marketing material like the car’s main catalogue.

    To capture an extra bold experience of the new Astra FLAVOR3D produced an interactive, configurable stunt movie of the vehicle for the International Motor Show 2015, in Frankfurt Germany. Using a touch screen visitors could change the Astra’s exterior, select from different rims, and bring their creation to life on a large Powerwall in stunning high-definition video.

    GMC Acadia 360° Video - Making Of

    The 2017 GMC Acadia 360 Facebook Video united the creative talents of 3DEXCITE, GMC Social and Facebook to devise a breakthrough launch experience for the all-new 2017 GMC Acadia. After much deliberation, a 360° time-lapse video, that blended CG and live environments, was chosen as the optimal scope for the project.

    3DEXCITE then produced the project by acquiring a live daytime scene and created a CG nighttime scene for the GMC Acadia to live in. When navigating through the video, the viewer is seated inside a photorealistic CG recreation of the GMC Acadia, with full 360° control of their perspective. As the time-lapse progresses, the viewer experiences morning, daytime and evening in a warm, Florida environment, and slowly transitions to nighttime in a snowy lodge scene, complete with Aurora Borealis and animated deer.

    Since its release, the video has been viewed over 18 million times on Facebook, and has received wide critical acclaim.

    VW UP! - Virtual Reality Experiences

    When VW sought to pull off a groundbreaking launch for the latest version of their youth-oriented vehicle, the VW UP!, their creative agency asked 3DEXCITE to deliver a cutting edge VR experience that immersed guests in the vehicle’s young, hip vibe.3DEXCITE took VW’s request and ran with it, creating a shockingly lifelike VR experience that allowed guests to interact with the car via the HTC Vive, and customize its interior and exterior to their liking.Like a loud and proud rock band, the UP! experience then embarked on a 7 city tour, dubbed the Pop UP! City Tour. The tour was planned in cooperation with a prominent music brand, and introduced the UP! to guests throughout Germany in bold, new and exciting ways, just as VW intended.The VR experience featured three styles of music and three environments. Each environment featured a different style of music, which further immersed guests in a vivid, new reality.
