Updates to the 2019x version provides out-of-the-box Marketing and Sales configuration functionality, enrichment, management, and even variant control, via Direct Plugins, for Unreal®, Unity® and Maya®.
DELTAGEN 2019x also adds a standalone Variant Switcher that preserves and fully utilizes variants in Unreal®, Unity® and Maya®, making it easier than ever to create personalized product experiences. Create all relevant options in the Variant Manager, and rest easy with the knowledge that they will be preserved – in the game engine gateway tools – for easy placement in Marketing experiences and Sales configurators.
Leverage the power of automation with Assignment Tables. Tessellation, Unwrapping, Material Assignment and Polygon Reduction can now be configured to run at specified settings, via Assignment Tables, with the push of a button. Settings can also be standardized and reused for model updates and cross-product data preparation. This saves additional time whenever new or updated models are introduced. Assignment tables can also be executed in DELTABATCH, to further simplify and enhance model preparation.
DELTAGEN 2019x contains powerful Artificial Intelligence and GPU-based denoising capabilities for lightmap rendering, interactive GI rendering and final Marketing image output through Render Export.
All supported output types use advanced algorithms to intelligently denoise and reduce render times.
This results in more realistic and vivid imagery than ever before, while hardware requirements are lessened, saving not only time, but money as well. Advanced AI Denoiser speeds up GI rendering output at higher levels of quality in DELTAGEN by 5 – 10x.
Building and managing the materials of global configured Master Models is a challenge, due to the sheer amount of materials and textures required. DELTAGEN 2019x comes packed with material management enhancements that speed up workflows and reduce the time spent on repetitive work.
The Advanced List View enables an efficient overview of materials and their usage in a scene. New filter mechanisms allow users to simply filter for material type, favorites, missing textures, usage in variants and many more aspects. Multi-Material Editing enables the editing of the same values on multiple materials at once and gives an efficient overview of different values.
DELTAGEN 2019x introduces the new Stellar material type: 3DEXPERIENCE PBR. This material type delivers high-quality materials and a resourceful appearance setup. It also enables the highest consistency between Dassault Systéms’ applications and renderers, such as: the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, 3DEXCITE DELTAGEN and SOLIDWORKS Visualize. This synergy brings generous cost and time savings, through the reduction of effort to optimize materials per engine, render method (Rasterizer, GI, WebGL) and media channel type.
Real-time interactive experiences are not only stunning to look at, but they also require heavy duty hardware. DELTAGEN 2019x leads the way once again, with resource-saving tools that can relieve some of the strain that intensive experiences need in order to scale. Global Illumination Lightmap Baking can prebake shadows, and do all the heavy lifting upfront. Now, when an experience is run, the shadows are already in beautiful, rendered form, and are ready to function in an experience in a minimally impactful way.
Optimizing models for real-time interactive experiences reveals a tricky balance between maintaining visual quality, and outputting models that are lightweight enough for immersive experiences. DELTAGEN 2019x’s updated Polygon Reducer includes a preview mode that allows the user to monitor the model quality while the number of polygons are reduced. This leads to more effective model optimization, while maintaining incredible quality.
Once a product model has been optimized in DELTAGEN 2019x, it’s ready for the big time – print images, animations and interactive experiences. We are pleased to announce that a Direct Unreal® Plugin is now available, which complements our existing Direct Unity® and Direct Maya® Plugins. Users can seamlessly import product-correct master models into Unreal®, without additional data prep. Models leverage the power of game engines for unmatched immersive experience results. Direct Unreal®, Unity® and Maya® also sync effortlessly with our standalone Variant Switcher, for additional configuration control.
DELTAGEN 2019x now supports Xrite Appearance eXchange Format (AxF™), a system-independent, industry-standard material capture and storage file type. The AxF allows captured materials to retain excellent consistency along every stage of the product lifecycle, from design & development to manufacturing & marketing. Physically correct appearances provides a lifelike look and feel, which functionally supports 2D or 3D Sales and Marketing visualizations and experiences.
Shadow baking receives a major boost in DELTAGEN and can now be calculated up to two-times as fast, with the Stellar render engine. An optimized UV unwrapper, specifically designed for shadow-map generation, unlocks incredible shadow quality that adds an uncanny level of realism to product models. To further save time, when an update to a model is made, shadows only need to be baked for the added or revised part, all pre-existing shadows don’t require recalculation. This streamlined approach complements a workflow with the perfect shadow solution – even when working with PDMXML files.
To further expand horizons in this digitally driven world, DELTAGEN can output stereo panoramas with the STELLAR render engine. The combination of Global Illumination and STELLAR’s Physically Based Renderer supports the creation of visually unmatched VR content that can be ported through any VR ready headset. Stellar’s advanced render settings can also be leveraged to output multiple passes and generate scene variants for use directly in VR experiences. The power of immersive, lightweight VR is in your hands.
Complicated data sets have met their match with DELTAGEN’s Model Optimizer. Massive performance improvements can be gained through the optimizer’s automatic search and deletion of unnecessary part groups and the reduction of a scene-tree’s depth. Hardware requirements can be reduced by decreasing the scene’s shape count, by combining objects with the same material values. Shadow maps can also be aggregated into large texture atlases to reduce the file count and overhead of unused areas on a shadow texture. Aggregated shadow texures can be authored further in DELTAGEN & DELTAGEN HUB. They can also be prepared for VR, AR or other experiences in game engines using the 3DEXCITE Direct Unity® plugin.
The CG workflow is instantly streamlined and upgraded with DELTAGEN’s native support of XPDMXML files straight from CAD software. Further linking DELTAGEN to the power of the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE® platform, directly import CAD files that include model parts with NURBS, UVs, materials, metadata and complete assembly structures. Simplify processes and focus more on the work you love, and less time worrying about file compatibility.
Significantly reduce the polygon count of models without losing visual quality using the new polygon decimator. When used in conjunction with the Model Optimizer, data can be quickly and easily prepared for gaming engine plugins to create stunning desktop, mobile, immersive experiences and beyond. Further extend the significance of all digital assets with this new functionality.
Render passes are also available in DELTAGEN STELLAR and Distributed STELLAR (DSTELLAR). They include: Diffuse, Specular, Refraction, Reflection, Indirect Illumination, Ambient Occlusion, UV, Normal, Depth, Alpha and STELLAR Material ID. Render passes in DSTELLAR extend the capabilities of large content production pipelines that are using distributed rendering.
DELTAGEN’s powerful Automatic Unwrapping feature provides perfect texturing without visible seams, allowing for full material coverage. The result is smooth, gorgeous textures that are indistinguishable from their real-world counterparts. Shadow UVs also feature automatic unwrapping, making your texturing smoother, more inutitive and higher quality with less effort.
